The ADWG (Australian Drinking Water Guidelines) sets the limit of chlorine in our drinking water at 5mg/l, which is higher than the recommended chlorine level of 3mg/l in most swimming pool test kits.

The U.S. Council of Environmental Quality states that the cancer risk among people using chlorinated water is as much as 93% higher than among those whose water does not contain chlorine.

The Australian Drinking Water Guideline (ADWG) sets the maximum fluoride level at 1.5 mg/L. However, the Australia Government National Health and Medical Research Council states that the adequate intake in children varies by age (due to different body weights), ranging from 0.5 mg per day in 7 to 12 month olds, to 1.1 mg per day in children aged 4 to 8 years. This suggests that the fluoride levels in our water may not be optimal for everyone. In fact, a study from Harvard University suggests that high levels of fluoride can negatively affect children's cognitive development.
